Daniel Catenacci of HCB Südtirol Alperia time 31:41, was involved in an incident deemed as Cross checking (IIHF Rule 127). The video evidence was sent to the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 - 'Careless'.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, Daniel Catenacci of HCB Südtirol Alperia will receive supplementary discipline under rule 127 – Cross-checking.

On February 21st in Klagenfurt an incident occurred involving Bozen player #7 Daniel Catenacci and Klagenfurt player #21 Manuel Geier which is deemed cross-checking. A 5 minute penalty plus game misconduct was assessed by the on-ice officials.

As the video shows, play is in the Kalgenfurt D'zone where multiple players are battling for a loose puck. Within the pursuit for the loose puck, #21 Geier, makes an illegal play on #7 Catenacci, which instigates Catenacci to retaliate in a dangerous manner, through the use of his stick, which is also deemed illegal and worthy of supplementary discipline.

The consideration for a retaliatory type action by Catenacci was taken into consideration, when the PSC reviewed the incident. However, it is also determined, no player can 'take the law into his own hands' and use illegal and dangerous actions towards an opponent. Catenacci made a choice, self willing, to use his stick in a cross checking manner which was located high and as a result, made head contact with Geier. It is deemed a retaliatory action, that has no place in the game. Especially when the force is a direct result of the stick in a horizontal manner.

Effective immediately, Daniel Catenacci #7 of HCB Südtirol Alperia is suspended for 2 games and fined 400.00 Euros. 1 game for the respective cross checking incident and 1 game as a repeat offender.
