Armin Preiser of the Vienna Capitals Silver got suspended for two games because of an incident deemed as kneeing.

Armin Preiser (#3) of Vienna Capitals Silver, time 13:31, made contact with an opponent deemed as Kneeing, IIHF Rule 152. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 – ‘Careless’ – insufficient attention or thought to avoid harm or error. Liable to happen as a consequence of, by intending to affect an opponent through a reactionary or accidental motion or the incident is deemed careless causing negligence.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Armin Preiser (#3) of the Vienna Capitals Silver, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 152 – Kneeing.

On Saturday, October 26th, (#3) Armin Preiser of Vienna Capitals Silver, was involved in an incident deemed as Kneeing. As the video shows, a turnover occurred with an opposing player skating and gaining possession of the puck. Immediately after the opposing player released the puck, (#3) Armin Preiser approached in a head on skating approach to deliver a body check. The body check delivered is considered kneeing. The opposing player, with a regard for the puck, entered into a left turning skating pattern before and during the playing of the puck. He did not alter or is considered the cause of receiving knee contact. Armin Preiser begins to load up to make a check and alters his body weight to cut to his right which is into the lane of the opposing player. In making the slight right turn, Armin Preiser leads with his right leg. The reason for supplementary discipline, is the responsibility is on Armin Preiser to make a legal check through the use of his shoulder or hip. Neither occurred and instead the contact was delivered through his right leg, directly to the right leg of the opposing player. The contact is knee to leg with no body to body contact, deemed recklessly endangering.

Effective immediately, Armin Preiser (#3) of the Vienna Capitals Silver is suspended for 2 games.
