Philippe Lakos (#4) of spusu Vienna Capitals, time 53:31 was involved in an incident deemed as boarding (IIHF Rule 119). The video evidence was sent to the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 - 'Careless'.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga PSC, Philippe Lakos (#4) of spusu Vienna Capitals, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 119 – Boarding.

On March15th in Znojmo, an incident occurred involving Philippe Lakos (#4) of spusu Vienna Capitals, deemed boarding. The incident was sent to the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga PSC and determined the incident is worthy of supplementary discipline - category 1-Careless.

ZNO (#12) C.J Stretch received the puck in the neutral zone and skated, as the puck carrier, towards his attacking zone. At the blue line, C.J Stretch banked the puck off the boards into the corner of his attacking zone. The dump-in allowed C.J Stretch to skate past both VIC defenders and a position to the puck first.

With VIC Philippe Lakos as the trailing defender, he is engaged and permitted to make a body check. At approximately the goal line, Philippe Lakos began to load for a body check (which is legal). Upon contact, Philippe Lakos elevated, rotated into the check whereby his hip and back was the force point of contact and used excessive force. The check was deemed illegal and worthy of supplementary discipline. As a trailing player into a check, the checker needs to be in full control of his body.

It was taken into consideration C.J Stretch faked a shot and then reversed, causing his body to alter before contact. For this reason, it is not a CFB. A small part of responsibility is on C.J Stretch reversing and altering his body immediately before contact. But it is not the reason for Philippe Lakos to elevate and turn into the check to end back 1st, eliminating the possibility for C.J Stretch to protect or defend himself.

Effective immediately, Philippe Lakos (#4) of spusu Vienna Capitals is suspended for 2 games and fined 400.00 Euros.
