Win2day ICE Hockey League | 1. November 2022 | Schedule:
Tue, 01.11.2022, 4.30 pm: EC Red Bull Salzburg – EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV
Referees: NIKOLIC K., STERNAT, Gatol-Schafranek, Riecken. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The duel between EC Red Bull Salzburg and EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV is one of two games on this matchday in which teams from the top-6 compete. The reigning champions are in second place after a shootout win in Klagenfurt, while Villach is in sixth place after their home win over Vienna. Both teams have thus won their last game. While it was the fourth win in a row for the "Red Bulls", the "Adler" got back on the winning track after three defeats in a row. The two teams faced each other on October 23rd, when the champion won 3:1. Villach's goal was scored by Alexander Maxa, who will now play his 300th win2day ICE Hockey League game on Tuesday. Villach still showed strong form on Sunday, especially on the power play, making a statement before facing Salzburg - and the best PK team in the league (92.1%). The Salzburg side, they enter the game in Klagenfurt identical except for convalescents Lukas Schreier, Ty Loney, Thomas Raffl and Troy Bourke, have always scored in their last five home games against Villach, winning four of them after regulation. The "Adler" are missing Rebernig, Payr and Wallenta.
Tue, 01.11.2022, 5.00 pm: BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg – HC Pustertal Wölfe
Referees: BERNEKER, NIKOLIC M., Martin, Sparer. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
League newcomer BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg will meet HC Pustertal Wölfe for the first time on Tuesday. While the Vorarlberg side could only win one of five games recently - the last three times they had to admit defeat despite scoring the first goal of the game - the South Tyroleans have probably managed their turnaround: three of the last four games were won. In the 240 minutes, the "Wolves" scored 21 goals. In the previous ten games, last year's quarter-finalists managed only 17 goals. The Pioneers' offense is their Achilles' heel - 1.92 goals per game is the lowest of any team. At home, the team from "Ländle" has been waiting for a victory for five games. Pustertal has only been able to record one success away from home this season (7:0 vs. HKO). With a win, Pustertal could advance into the top 10 for the first time since September 30th. For the "Wolves", Aaron Luchuk has scored in each of the last four consecutive games. The Pioneers added Dutch forward Guus van Nees before this game.
Tue, 01.11.2022, 5.30 pm: spusu Vienna Capitals – Moser Medical Graz99ers
Referees: HRONSKY, SMETANA, Durmis, Konc.
After fixing the technical defect of the ice preparation system in the STEFFL Arena, the spusu Vienna Capitals play their first home game since October 7th. For the first time this season, the two-time league champions will face the Moser Medical Graz99ers. The Styrians travel with two wins lately, Vienna had to admit defeat in Villach on Sunday - and remained without a point win for the first time in eight games. Vienna has always done very well in home games against Graz in the recent past: The last seven games were won, with Graz taking one point only twice. The last Graz win in Vienna dates back to December 13th, 2019 (3:0). Graz, which still misses the legionary quartet Ograjensek, Bouramman, Zalewski and Fladeby, recently got a lot of support from Christian Engstrand, who is number one in the win2day ICE Hockey League with a save percentage of 93.7%.
Tue, 01.11.2022, 5.30 pm: EC-KAC – HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie
Referees: OFNER, TRILAR, Puff, Snoj.
The EC-KAC will play its fourth home game in a row on Tuesday, taking on HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie for the second time this season. The first meeting on the first matchday of the season won Innsbruck 5:2, which at that time already presented its strength in the powerplay, scoring three times in numerical superiority. And also 13 games later, the "Haie" are the beste PP team of the league: 40% of their powerplays they finish with a goal. Salzburg, the second-best PP team, only manages 26.5%. Klagenfurt is eleventh in this statistic (10.8%). For Innsbruck, therefore, offense is the trump card: with four goals per game, the Tyroleans have picked up seven wins so far this season. Klagenfurt also has seven victories. In the last three home games, the "Rotjacken" always picked up a point.
Tue, 01.11.2022, 5.30 pm: Steinbach Black Wings Linz – HCB Südtirol Alperia
Referees: FICHTNER, SIEGEL, Bedynek, Bärnthaler. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The top game of the 16th round - and the second encounter of two top-6 teams on this matchday - takes place in Upper Austria: Steinbach Black Wings Linz, who are third in the table, welcome the leader HCB Südtirol Alperia. The home team recently countered a slight negative trend with a clear 6:3 win over Asiago, while the guests have now gone four games without defeat. The "Foxes" also remained without defeat in the last five comparisons with the steel cities. In their last four victories, they conceded only one goal each. The two-time champions from South Tyrol won the first match of the season in Bolzano 2:1. Dennis Sticha could make a comeback after his injury break. Except for Diego Glück, the entire squad is available to Bolzano.

The first November matchday is completed with the first duel of the season between Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and HK SZ Olimpija.
