The EK Zeller Eisbären recently defended their lead in the table with two victories, winning the top game at champions Ritten in a shootout on Thursday. The Pinzgau team now travel to the penultimate team in the table, Val Gardena. The South Tyroleans have alternated wins and defeats in their last five games, with the "Furie" narrowly losing out to Sisak during the week. While Val Gardena has only won three out of nine games at home so far, Zell am See is only mediocre in the away table (13 points from nine games). The two duels last season both ended with an away win.
