Also in the eighth home game against the EC Bregenzerwald, Val Gardena retained the upper hand, who thus made it to the quarterfinals. In a tightly contested game, the visitors from Vorarlberg took the 1:0 lead in front of 602 spectators in the 18th minute with a goal from Roberts Lipsbergs. After Gherdeina could turn the game at the beginning of the second period with a double strike within 68 seconds, the Latvian scored again to equalize (2:2). But again the answer of the home side followed promptly. Only 62 seconds after the equalizer it was Michael Sullmann who scored the game-winner. Because further goals were not scored. The guests tried everything again in the final period, but none of the 22 shots on goal found their way into the net. In the end, Val Gardena's goalkeeper Colin Furlong had a save percentage of 95.6%.

With the victory of the "Furie" all eight playoff participants are fixed. Last year's finalist Asiago, Jesenice, Ritten and Lustenau have already qualified for the quarter-finals via Master Round. In the Pre-Playoffs, Cortina, Sterzing, Zell am See and Val Gardena completed the playoff field. The quarterfinal pairings will be determined tomorrow, Sunday, by a playoff pick.
