Victories for Kitzbühel and Ritten

In the Alps Hockey League, second-placed Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and fourth-placed Rittner Buam SkyAlps celebrated victories on Tuesday. While Kitzbühel won against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors also in the third duel of the season (8:0), Ritten narrowly won in the South Tyrolean derby against Hockey Unterland Cavaliers (5:4/OT). In the meantime, the “Buam” were already 4:1 in the lead.

Kitzbühel also clearly had the upper hand in the third game of the season against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. In their 8:0 home win, the second-placed quickly set the course for victory with a double strike in the sixth and seventh minutes. The “Eagles”, who have won 6:1 and 8:1 against the Juniors so far this season, increased their lead to 3:0 at the start of the middle period. Kitzbühel scored the remaining five goals in the last twelve minutes of the game in front of 1.250 fans. Paolo Wieltschnig was the only player to score twice. It was the 21-year-old's first brace in a Tyrolean jersey. KEC goalie Luca Egger saved all 22 shots and celebrated his first shutout in his second appearance of the season. It was the Juniors' fifth defeat in a row, while Kitzbühel celebrated their third win in a row.

Overtime victory for Ritten
In the second game of the day, the Rittner Buam Sky Alps won the South Tyrol derby against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers with 5:4/OT. The home side, who are seventh in the table, initially took the lead in the 15th minute, but the defending AHL champions turned the game around in the first period. With two more goals in the middle period, the fourth-placed team pulled away comfortably to 4:1. In the final period, however, the home side came out of the dressing room like a changed team, had a total of 14:4 shots on goal and even found the net three times. With 112 seconds left in regulation time, Nicolo Remolato scored the equalizer in the powerplay. The 19-year-old forward also scored to make it 2:4 in the meantime and thus celebrated his first brace in the Alps Hockey League. However, Ritten finally scored the extra point in overtime. Marco Marzolini scored the game-winner in the 64th minute. Ritten also narrowly retained the upper hand in the first duel of the season, winning 5:4 after overtime.
