The spusu Vienna Capitals have strengthened their offense with Max Zimmer just under a month ahead of the start of the 22-23 season in the win2day ICE Hockey League, with the 24-year-old American signing his first contract in Europe.

Max Zimmer spent his entire career so far in the USA. At the highest junior level, the forward played in the USHL for Chicago Steel. In 2016, the Carolina Hurricanes secured the NHL rights in the draft. Zimmer then joined the University of Wisconsin, for whom he played until 2020. The following season, Zimmer showed up for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the ECHL with 19 goals and 16 assists. Zimmer spent parts of the 21-22 season in Charlotte, where he played 14 games (2A) in the AHL for the Checkers, and Greenville. He totaled 38 goals and 40 assists in 118 games for the Swamp Rabbits.
