12th season for Fischer in Vienna
The Viennese has played for the spusu Vienna Capitals since 2011, with his career ending last year in just 109 days. "I am very loyal to the club. As a little boy, I always wanted to play in Vienna in front of my family," Fischer says about the importance of the spusu Vienna Capitals for him personally. In sporting terms, the 33-year-old once again proved his quality. In the last season of the win2day ICE Hockey League, his third as captain, Fischer played a total of 53 games. The veteran embraced his leadership role both on and off the ice, which also benefits the Capitals youngsters. "It's an honor to be in this situation. We've had a very young team the last two or three years. The players have always taken a step forward in their development over the last few years. The young ones now know what it's all about, too. They know the attitude they have to have toward the sport in order to be successful. That's where I'm just there to help with the little things," says the Capitals' captain.
