On Sunday the Vienna Capitals kept their winning streak alive after gaining a 3:2 road win against Dornbirn Bulldogs. EC Panaceo VSV won the first carinthian derby of the season against EC KAC 3:2. It was Villachs first derby win since almost two years. The EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated its third win in a row after beating Moser Medical Graz 99ers 5:4 after overtime. Champion HCB Südtirol Alperia and Fehervar AV19 booked clear home wins. HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” finished a road-trip with an overtime-win against EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz.

Champion HCB Südtirol Alperia booked a clear 5:1 home win against KHL Medvescak Zagreb. The Italian side climbed to third place in standings, Zagreb remains second last. Marco Insam captured the lead for the hosts on a powerplay situation in the first period and restored the lead later, while Zanoski succeeded the equalizer at the beginning of the second. Bozen came out hard for the third and Miceli doubled up the lead. With less than one minute to go the Italien side added two more and made it a comfortable win for the hosts.

The EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated the third win in a row. After two shutout wins, the vice-champion secured a 5:4 overtime victory against the Moser Medical Graz 99ers. Both kept their position in standings. Graz had an advantage almost the whole game: They were leading three times, once with a two-goal difference, but could not manage to win the game. Salzburg secured overtime with three goals in the last frame and later Alexander Rauchenwald created the win for Salzburg with his second goal early in the extra session.

After three consecutive losses Fehervar AV19 celebrated a clear home win. The Hungarian side won against HC Orli Znojmo 5:2 and moved to 5th place in standings. The Czech side is still waiting for the first win of the season and remains last. The game was not even three minutes old when Guman opened the scoring for Znojmo. Erdely and Sille turned the game for Fehervar almost at half point of the game. The “eagles” tied up again on a power play situation. Then the hosts dominated the game in the remaining time: Stipsicz and Hari scored two more goals for Fehervar in less than two minutes and later the second goal of Erdely rounded off the score.

The Vienna Capitals kept their winning streak alive and restored the lead in standings. They gained a 3:2 road win against Dornbirn Bulldogs. The Vorarlberg side suffered it’s fourth defeat in a row and dropped back in standings to 6th place. After a non-goal opening frame, Scott Timmins took the lead for the hosts. Kurt Davis and Matthew Clark turned the game for the guests in the second and Ali Wukovits increased the lead at the beginning of the last. With his second goal Timmins reduced the deficit to one, but Dornbirn could not tie up the game any more.

The EC Panaceo VSV won the first carinthian derby of the season against EC KAC 3:2. Villach took its first derby win after six consecutive losses and celebrates the first win after regular time this season. The VSV started with high pressure and opened the game with a goal of Jason DeSantis, who played at KAC in the past. Soon later the KAC increased its intensity and was able to level the score with a goal of Petersen seconds before the second intermission. The VSV struck back in the 48th minute when Spannring capitalized on a double powerplay situation after two straight penalties by the KAC. At 59:44 Down scored on the empty net to decide the game. Peterson’s second goal via penalty eight seconds to go came to late.

The HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie“ took the second road win in less than 24 hours. After winning at Znojmo on Saturday, the “sharks” beat EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz 4:3 in the extra session. Clark opened the score for the guests and Yogan doubled up almost at half point of the game. Lebler was able to reduce the deficit later for the hosts, but Spurgeon capitalized on a double power play situation to restore the two-goal lead. Further, the hosts showed good offensive skills: First Umicevic scored, Locke tied the game seconds before the end. Clark secured Innsbruck’s win with his second goal in the overtime.
