First win for Salzburg
EC Red Bull Salzburg won 4-1 at home against the Dornbirn Bulldogs on Tuesday and thus fixed the first victory in the duel with the Vorarlberg side. The Red Bulls were the dominant team from the start and rarely allowed the visitors to develop in a game with many penalties. Stefan Espeland gave Salzburg the lead for the first time in this series in the ninth minute, Filip Varejcka and Thomas Raffl increased it to 3-0 in the middle period. Although the DEC managed to score first through Vitalijs Pavlovs, Alexander Rauchenwald made everything clear in the final period. With the 4:1 home win, the Red Bulls reduced the score in the best-of-seven series to 1:2.

Vienna get three match pucks
The spusu Vienna Capitals were the only team to make it 3-0 in their series against Hydro Fehérvár AV19 on Tuesday. In contrast to the first two games, the Viennese missed six power play occasions this time, but one goal by Benjamin Nissner was enough for victory. After a goalless first period, the home side punished a mistake in the Hungarians' build-up and the 23-year-old Viennese scored the golden goal. Although Fehérvár goalie Jaroslav Janus saved 42 shots, his counterpart Bernhard Starkbaum did not even concede a goal and celebrated his first shutout of the season. The Capitals thus have four chances to advance to the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League semifinals as early as Friday. However, the fourth-placed team after the pick round has never advanced since the live pick was introduced.

KAC turns Carinthian derby
The EC-KAC also won their twelfth home derby in a row against EC GRAND Immo VSV, but had a lot of work to do. The Villach team took the lead after just 17 seconds through Jerry Pollastrone. But a shot into the cross corner by Matt Fraser equalised the score in the 13th minute. In the middle period, the visitors again got off to the better start, this time with Sahir Gill scoring the early goal. But the hosts' answer was not long in coming - Rok Ticar made it 2:2. It was not until the final period that the KAC took more control and was rewarded for it: Fraser's second goal of the evening gave the home side the lead for the first time (54th). VSV tried everything in the final seconds and even started to cheer again - but the supposed equaliser by Caron came after the end of the regular playing time. Thus, the KAC won a thrilling derby 3:2 and regained the lead in the series.

Bolzano wins in overtime
After the clear 7:2 away win, Bolzano got off to a perfect start in game three. With a shorthanded goal in the third minute, Mike Halmo gave the favourites an early lead. The home side set the tone for most of the game, but were often stopped by Bratislava goalkeeper Jared Coreau, who saved 44 shots. In the 28th minute Sergej Kostsitsyn even equalised for the Slovaks. In the third period, Bolzano could not capitalise on three power play situations either, which meant that for the first time a playoff game in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League went into overtime. Brett Findlay scored the decisive goal and gave the South Tyroleans the series lead.
