Derek Joslin - equipped with the experience of 116 NHL games, two championship titles in the DEL as well as Champions Hockey League finalist in 2019 - will defend for EC GRAND Immo VSV. The 34-year-old is a very good two-way defender and excellent skater who impresses with his game overview and calmness on the puck. With 155 points (36 goals, 119 assists) in the DEL for Nuremberg and Munich and most recently 60 points for EC Red Bull Salzburg, he has always been one of the highest-scoring defenders on the team.

"I think we will have a very strong team. John Hughes and Rick Schofield are very good friends of mine and excellent hockey players. They are players who know how to succeed. When they signed a contract in Villach, a commitment to VSV became more and more attractive for me as well", says the Canadian, who will come to Villach with his family at the end of July.

EC GRAND Immo VSV sports director Gerald Rauchenwald: "With the signing of Derek Joslin, we have succeeded in making a top transfer. He is a team player and real leader. Derek is a very strong all-round player with a great understanding of the game, who will certainly make us even stronger."
