In VSV’s second preseason game within three days, head coach Dan Ceman again missed six imports, as Patrick Bjorkstrand, Sahir Gill, Jerry Pollastrone, Tyler Beskorowany, Matt Mangene and Scott Kosmachuk were not available. Further, Daniel Wachter and Philipp Kreuzer were out due to injury reasons, which gave the EC VSV a young and talented line-up again. An early lead by the guests was turned immediately into a two-goal lead, as Raphael Wolf (9.) hit the blueliner and Benjamin Lanzinger (10.) and Felix Maxa (13.) scored. Jesenice halved the deficit after a breakaway still in the first.

Right at the beginning of the second the “eagles” made the preliminary decisions, as Sameuel Müller (21.) and Jamie Fraser (22.) – the captain scored on power play – each lit the lamp. In the final frame 18-year-old Lukas Moser took over for Alexander Schmidt and had to take one goal against. Kevin Schmidt rounded off the score for the home team to give the VSV a 6:3 preseason win.
