EC Bregenzerwald started the Alps Hockey League-season with a 3:2-road-win at WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan. Matchwinner was Marcel Wolf with two goals.

WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan – EC Bregenzerwald 2:3
EC Bregenzerwald won the first match on the road, obtaining already the same number of victories on the road of the last season. Vipiteno's first impact of the season on the Alps Hockey League is not the best. Austrian opponents was determined, careful and very quick. The ECB managed to score after 13 minutes of play. A shot by Daniel Ban was close to the net. Then there was a decisive touch of Marcel Wolf. Guests had the slightest benefit after the first period. During the second fraction, Vipiteno literally gave the 2th goal. There was a wrong shot from the defense. The puck was intercepted by the Austrians who doubled with Christian Haidinger (28th) with great ease. Vipiteno had some problems to play except for one big chance of Danny Deanesi. During the third period the Broncos woke up. Jure Sotlar scored just 43 seconds of play. But the austrian team restored the two goal advantage with another goal of Marcel Wolf. The team of Broncos keept the match alive. Luca Felicetti scored the second goal of Broncos in powerplay when there was only two minutes to the end of the period. But the final assault of Sterzing didn’t succed. The ECB won 3:2.
