On Saturday, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and KHL Sisak — the leading duo of the Alps Hockey League — both celebrated victories. Meanwhile, bottom-ranked Unterland defeated the reigning champions in Zell am See, and Kitzbühel triumphed in a shootout against Asiago. Jesenice also came out on top in a high-scoring duel with Ritten.
S.G. Cortina Hafro – Red Bull Hockey Juniors 0–3 (0–0, 0–2, 0–1)
The Juniors also claimed their second win of the season against Cortina. After a scoreless opening period, captain Gesson opened the scoring. The Red Bulls added a second goal in the middle frame, and Böhm sealed the 3–0 win in the third. Goalie Luca Haitzmann recorded his first shutout of the season.
KHL Sisak – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it 6–3 (3–1, 1–0, 2–2)
Sisak lived up to their favorite role against Gherdeina in front of more than 1,700 fans. After just ten minutes, the Croatians were up 2–0; the first intermission score read 3–1. The hosts extended their lead in the second period, with Matko Idžan’s 4–1 proving to be the game-winner. In the end, Sisak won 6–3, staying close on the heels of the first-placed Juniors.
EK Die Zeller Eisbären – Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 1–5 (0–2, 0–1, 1–2)
After six consecutive wins, the Zeller Eisbären suffered a clear home defeat against bottom team Unterland in front of more than 2,000 fans. The visitors took control early as Marek Potsinok scored twice in the opening period. Erik Potsinok made it 3–0 in the second. The hosts briefly responded before Unterland restored the margin, and Marek Potsinok completed his hat trick to set the final score at 5–1.
HC Migross Asiago – Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel 3–4 SO (1–2, 0–0, 2–1)
Over 1,900 spectators witnessed a thrilling contest between Asiago and Kitzbühel. The Italians struck first, but the Tyroleans turned the game around by the end of the first period. Bretschneider scored twice, including a 3–1 power-play goal. Asiago mounted a late comeback with goals from Valentini and Gios to tie it 3–3. Crnkic secured the extra point for Kitzbühel in the shootout.
HDD Jesenice – Rittner Buam SkyAlps 6–5 (2–2, 2–1, 2–2)
A goal-filled encounter unfolded in Jesenice against the Rittner Buam. The visitors struck first and regained the lead later, but frequent penalties gave Jesenice repeated power-play chances, which they capitalized on. The final period turned into an open contest, with goals on both sides, yet the Slovenians proved more efficient. Erik Svetina led with two goals and an assist as Jesenice held on for a narrow 6–5 victory.
