The VSV Lady Hawks also showed their strength in the new ice hockey year. The Carinthian side claimed a 3:2 win in the first of two games (the return match will be played on Sunday) against Tauron Metropolia Silesia. The Polish team, however, made the better start and took an early 1:0 lead. In the second period, VSV turned the game around and eventually secured a 3:2 victory.

MAC Budapest celebrated a 4:1 road win against the Graz99ers Huskies. A quick double strike within 24 seconds in the opening period put the Hungarian side on the path to success early on.

HK PSRZ Bratislava recorded a convincing 8:1 home win against the Salzburg Eagles. The hosts built a 3:0 lead already in the first period and continued to extend their advantage. Lucia Istocyova, Janka Hlinkova and Simone Bednarik each scored twice to complete a hat-trick of double goals.
