The Christmas season once again proved to be a true celebration for hockey fans in the win2day ICE Hockey League. From December 22, 2024, to January 5, 2025, 42 games turned arenas into electrifying hotspots for sports enthusiasts. With nearly 150,000 fans, this period marked the highest total attendance since the COVID-19 pandemic. On average, 3,565 spectators attended each game during the festive season—reflecting a 13% increase compared to the previous year.

Record Day and Sold-Out Arenas
The pinnacle of these X-Mas Games came on January 5, 2025, when a staggering 25,018 fans filled the arenas. This marked the league's highest single-day attendance in a decade. Out of the 42 games, 14 were sold out, including the spectacular New Year's clash between Vienna and Klagenfurt. This duel took place in front of 7,022 fans at the sold-out Steffl Arena in Vienna’s Kagran district. Another highlight: EC VSV delivered impressive numbers, filling their arena for all four of their home games during this period.

Season-Long Success
The strong turnout during the festive season also reflects broader success throughout the current season. Since the season’s start, a total of 658,547 fans have attended games, representing a 15% per-game increase compared to last year. Leading the charge are the spusu Vienna Capitals with nearly 80.000 spectators.
