EK Die Zeller Eisbären has celebrated its second clear-cut victory within three days in the Alps Hockey League, as the Salzburg side gave EC Bregenzerwald no chance with 6-1 and overtook the Vorarlberg team in the standings with their 15th win of the season. Six different players scored.

In addition, HC Gherdeina valgardena.it have signed Hannes Kasslatter.

After their remarkable 7-0 shutout win over HC Meran/o Pircher on Thursday, EK Die Zeller Eisbären followed it up with an equally dominant 6-1 home win over EC Bregenzerwald. With the fourth home win in a row, the Salzburg side pushed past the Vorarlberg team in the standings and now rank ninth. The "Eisbären" thus also won their second meeting of the season with the "Wäldern", celebrating their tenth home victory of the current season, the fifth in a row.

The home team scored right in its first power play through a goal by Juusu Rajala (6./PP1). Not even two and a half minutes later Tobias Dinhopel (8.) increased to 2:0. At the beginning of the second period the "Wälder" had to accept another goal against through Antons Sinegubovs (22.), before Waltti Lehtonen (33./PP1) also successfully completed the first powerplay of the guests and shortened it. However, there was no further comeback from the Vorarlberg side and Putnik (34.), Ban (41.), who was the most successful scorer on the night with one goal and two assists, and Akerman (55.) added one each for the Salzburg team, for whom goalie Dominik Frank recorded 32 saves.

Hannes Kasslatter strengthens Val Gardena
Meanwhile, HC Gherdeina valgardena.it has strengthened with Hannes Kasslatter, responding to the many injuries. The 22-year-old learned hockey at the "Furie", but played since the 14-15 season in Switzerland. Most recently, he was under contract with SC Lyss (3G|8A) in the third-highest Swiss division, but also played four games for SC Langenthal in the Swiss League.
