The EK Zeller Eisbären celebrated their third win in a row in the final series on Sunday. The team from Pinzgau took an early lead in Jesenice, but had to concede an equaliser shortly before the end of regulation time with the game tied at three. In overtime, it was Nick Huard who decided the game with his second goal of the evening. Zell am See is now just one win away from the title - the Salzburg team could become the first Austrian team to be crowned AHL champions in front of a home crowd on Tuesday.

The Slovenians have taken the lead in each of the two previous finals in Zell am See. In the first game, they also retained the upper hand with a 3:1 victory. Last Thursday, the team from Pinzgau turned the game in their favour with two third-period goals in front of over 2,500 spectators. The fifth clash on Tuesday will break the 10,000 attendance mark in the final series - 8,884 fans have been to the four encounters so far.

In the past two seasons, the champions have been crowned away from home. Of the seven AHL championship deciders to date, the winner has celebrated four times in front of a home crowd.
