Zell am See takes the lead in the standings | Unterland defeats Sisak

On Saturday evening, EK Die Zeller Eisbären celebrated a commanding 7:0 home win against EC Bregenzerwald, putting the Salzburg team at the top of the table. In addition, the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers won 5:2 in the first of two home games against KHL Sisak within 24 hours.

2,078 fans in the KE KELIT Arena saw a commanding 7:0 home win for EK Die Zeller Eisbären against EC Bregenzerwald. The Salzburg team thus took over the lead in the table and are now three points ahead of their closest rivals Ritten. After thirteen goalless minutes, the “Polar Bears” went into the first period break with a 2:0 lead thanks to a double strike within one and a half minutes. The home side also scored twice in the second period. Hubert Berger was responsible for two of the four goals at this point. In the final period, it took until the 51st minute before Zell am See scored again. This time, new signing Devin Steffler scored. It was the defender's first goal in his second game. Max Stiegler made it 6:0 in the 53rd minute and Kilian Rappold made it 7:0 18 seconds before the end of the game. Twelfth-placed Bregenzerwald suffered their third defeat in a row, while Zell am See celebrated their fourth win in a row.

Unterland wins first game of doubleheader against Sisak
The Hockey Unterland Cavaliers and KHL Sisak face each other twice this weekend in Neumarkt. The hosts won the first duel 5:2. However, the visitors were 1:0 ahead after the first period and after 40 minutes everything was even (2:2). However, the Cavaliers, currently ninth in the table, turned up the heat in the final period: First Gabriel Galassiti put the hosts ahead in the 43rd minute, before they increased the lead to 3:1 in the 55th through Kristians Samitis. It was the forward's second goal of the game and his second brace of the season. The final decision was made 41 seconds before the end with an empty-netter. It was the first win for the Cavaliers after four consecutive defeats, while Sisak, who are seventh in the table, were beaten for the first time after three wins in a row.
