The EK Die Zeller Eisbären celebrated a 6:5 victory in the absolute top game of the Alps Hockey League on Thursday against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, who missed out on the jump to the top of the table as a result. The Polar Bears, on the other hand, were able to extend their lead in the table thanks to an enormously strong phase in the second half of the middle third - they scored four goals within six minutes. After a strong start of the Bronvos - they led 2:0 and 4:2 - the Broncos were able to make the encounter exciting again after trailing 4:6 and scored the connecting goal. But the Broncos were unable to find a recipe, especially against the unleashed Fredrik Widen - the defender scored two goals and recorded three primary assists. While Sterzing dropped back to fourth place as a result of the defeat, the Polar Bears are two points ahead of their closest rivals Ritten.
Ritten and Jesenice climb to second and third place

Defending champions HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice appear to have come out of the international break in a stronger position. After losing their last two games before the break, the Slovenians now recorded a commanding 5:2 win over HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. Val Gardena first took the lead in the 29th minute, but then the express from Jesenice started to run. The reigning champions scored three goals within five minutes and turned the game around.
Fassa and Kitzbühel also successful in the first game after the break
HC Fassa Falcons ended a six-game losing streak in their last game before the break.
