HC Orli Znojmo has added Alexander Younan to its defensive squad to compensate Connor Walters. The 24-year-old has so far played exclusively in his native Sweden and has already played one game for Västerviks IK in the Hockey Allsvenskan this season. Younan is expected to make his debut as early as Friday against the Moser Medical Graz99ers.

The Jönköping-born Swede played in the junior teams of HV71 until he was 18. At the same time he was also in the various junior national teams and played in the U18 World Championship in 2015. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he moved to Rögle BK (3G|4A) in the SHL, the following three seasons he showed up at Västeras IK.

"I felt it was the right time to try something new and go abroad. It's not easy to make a decision like that, but in the end I'm very happy about this opportunity. I don't really know what to expect because I have never played outside Sweden, but I want to take this chance and perform well," Younan said in a first statement.

Walters leaves Znojmo
Canadian Connor Walters has left Znojmo after only one game. "Connor left us for family reasons, so we had to look for a replacement. We think we made a very good signing with Alexander Younan. He can take his next career step with us and we will support him to develop further," says President Pavel Ohera.
