Caps win against Linz for the 3rd time
In the second game under neo-head coach Raimo Summanen, Steinbach Black Wings Linz suffered their first defeat - albeit a narrow one. The spusu Vienna Capitals quickly redeemed themselves after the 1:7 defeat against Villach and extended their home run. The Viennese prevailed against the Upper Austrians 5:4 and recorded their seventh home win in a row. After the Caps already led 2-0 and 3-1 on Sunday, the Linzers fought back and equalized by the 36th minute. Vienna regained the lead in the final period, but the Upper Austrians now acted more alert and equalized again before Brody Sutter scored the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute. This was the third win for the Viennese over the Upper Austrians this season - all three times the difference was only one goal at the end. In the two previous duels, the Caps won only in the shootout.

Ljubljana wins top game
HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana won the third duel of the season with EC Red Bull Salzburg for the second time by a razor-thin margin. After the Salzburgers clearly dominated last week and celebrated a 7:2 success, the league leader managed to take revenge. On Sunday, the Slovenians were ahead 2:0 until the 25th minute. However, a quick brace in the third period quickly brought Salzburg back into the game. Good defense on both sides, as well as some bad luck on the part of the hosts when it came to taking their chances, finally brought shootout. There, the goalies were convincing at first - in the seventh attempt, Gregor Koblar finally provided the extra point. The Red Bulls' five-game winning streak thus came to an end. However, the one point won was enough to temporarily take over second place.

KAC celebrates fourth ICE win in a row
EC-KAC extended Hydro Fehérvár AV19's drop in form, as the Hungarians suffered their fourth defeat in a row to temporarily vacate second place in the table. The heavily depleted EC-KAC, on the other hand, celebrated its fourth ICE win in a row and thus managed to jump into the top-6. After an attractive but goalless first period, Marcel Witting opened the scoring with his first goal of the season. After the equalizer at the beginning of the third period, Matt Fraser provided the game-winning goal in powerplay. Klagenfurt eventually prevailed 3-1 and celebrated its second win of the season over Fehérvár.

Znojmo takes Bolzano off the ice with a record number of goals
HC Tesla Znojmo celebrated a landslide victory over HCB Südtirol Alperia in its only outing this week. The Czechs already lost twice this season against the runner-up of the previous season. All the more clear was the revenge on Sunday: In the 10:2 victory, Znojmo not only became the first team to score a double-digit number of goals this season, but also decided the game as the only team so far with a difference of eight goals in the current season. The Czechs laid the foundation for the record-breaking game already in the first period, in which they were able to score six goals. This was previously achieved by only five other teams in the almost 22-year history of the league (since the league was newly established). The Foxes never came back in the match and eventually suffered a 2:10 defeat. Three players from the Czech Republic scored a brace: Jakub Köver, Michal Kvasnica and Hunter Fejes. Anthony Luciani recorded four assists. While the South Tyrolean team dropped to eighth standings after the defeat, the ninth-placed Eagles closed the gap to the Foxes.

VSV succeeds in revenge against Pustertal
EC Grand Immo VSV could take revenge for the narrow 2:3 defeat at HC Pustertal on September 24. However, the Eagles made their success even more exciting, as they won only in overtime. After a goalless first period, the goals alternated. The guests from Carinthia opened the scoring in the 13th minute. After the prompt answer of the Wolves, Villach took the lead again in the third period, but again Pustertal reacted quickly. Renars Krastenbergs finally provided the decision in overtime, defending a top-6 ranking for his team.
